YMC-Actus SP columns are prepacked large-scale preparative HPLC columns. Since columns packed by YMC are QC tested prior to shipping, they arrive at your lab ready for use. Their space-saving and wheeled design allows for maximum flexibility even with limited lab space.
YMC-Actus SP columns are ideal for highly potent, toxic, or radioactive projects. Hazardous compounds often require dedicated systems and hardware, rendering traditional DAC columns impractical. Prepacked YMC-Actus SP columns eliminate the need to spend time and resources ensuring that a column has been sufficiently cleaned, packed, and validated for re-use.

YMC-Actus SP columns have a smaller footprint than Dynamic Axial Compression columns (DAD) because of the absence of a cylinder on the top. They can be installed in a small space and are easy to move with a cart with casters. They are also suitable for the Contichrom TWIN continuous chromatography system, which requires two columns.
Since they are pre-packed columns, no packing work by a worker is required. They can be used immediately after delivery, which would shorten manufacturing downtime. YMC-Actus SP columns will be provided with individual inspection reports.
YMC-Actus SP columns use cylinders to pack the packing material by physical compression. The pistons are fixed in place after compression. After packing, the packed beds are kept compressed by springs in the pistons. Therefore, they provide higher pressure resistance and durability.
A conventional column decreased its performance just by applying 2 MPa back pressure. On the other hand, the YMC-Actus SP column maintained its initial theoretical plate and tailing factor after applying 7 MPa.
